Jeep has been slow off the line regarding electric vehicles, but waiting appears to be part of Stellantis’ big-picture strategy.
Since Jeep is part of the same group, waiting is likely also part of its strategy. Until then, we have digital renders to look at. These fully-electric “baby Wrangler” renders were sent to us by Dejan Hristov.
Why the wait for Jeep’s first EV? We spoke to Ram’s CEO recently, and while the EV truck will be unveiled this year, you’ll have to wait until 2024 for the official launch. Part of this strategy is keeping a close eye on competitor vehicles and the pitfalls of EV ownership. In doing so, Stellantis can incorporate problem-solving before the car is even sold to the customer.
For now, the focus is on hybrid models like the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe.
