Jeep’s focus is now on EVs. The first two of these will be the Jeep Recon and the Wagoneer S, but neither of these will fill the space left by the Renegade. Before that happens, though, the Compass will be stepping in as the brand’s most affordable offering, with a starting price of $28,400 for its entry-level Sport trim. This is just a fraction above the most affordable Renegade, the Latitude, which retails for $27,850.
Jeep isn’t completely killing off the nameplate everywhere. The brand will continue to sell the subcompact crossover SUV in Mexico, Europe, South America, and the Asia Pacific markets. In these territories, Jeep has described the Renegade as “core to our business.”
