Inside Ty’s MX-3, a suite of gauges provides crucial data, including boost pressures, temperatures, and AFRs (Air-Fuel Ratios). Ty’s deep understanding of the vehicle’s inner workings allows him to fine-tune the mixture for varying altitudes, and he is responsible for much of the tuning here in true “built not bought” fashion.
But it’s not all perfect, and with only one engine currently in the car, Ty had to adjust the car’s balance and weight distribution. Until such time as the front motor goes in, he had to place an empty gas tank from a Jeep Cherokee in the front as a counterweight. Not the most graceful solution, but it is only temporary.
As Ty continues to perfect the MX-3, exciting developments lie ahead. Each modification and tune pushes the boundaries, leaving us eagerly anticipating what’s next.
